I was one of the unlucky chaps from my school who got selected for the Sahodaya Mathematics Olympiad 2011. I had taken part in the olympiad in the junior category, when I was in 9th standard. This was the 2nd time I’m attending the olympiad. The sahodaya people refer to the olympiad sometimes as a Math Quiz, which I really hate.

The following were the questions I had to answer in this years olympiad:

In a convex quadrilateral PQRS, PQ = RS, ( √ 3 +1)QR = SP and ∠RSP – ∠SPQ = 30°. Find ∠PQR – ∠QRS.
If a, b, c are the sides of a triangle, prove the inquality:
Solve the equation:
Consider the sequence 9, 16, 29, 54, 103, ….. Find the sum of the first 50 terms of the sequence.
